Workshop: Shelley Husband's Melbourne Wrap (1.5 hour)
Shelley Husband (a.k.a. SpinCushions) joins us for a fun book launch and workshop.
Shelley is a prolific designer of granny squares and has recently released her book called Granny Square Flair (read all about it here.) It has fifty 6″ square patterns and some fun projects to make as well. We will have copies available for purchase and Shelley will be speaking about her crafting journey earlier in the afternoon.
In this workshop we will learn the Melbourne Square which forms the basis of her Melbourne Wrap.
Please bring along to class : A selection of wool and a suitably sized hook that you are comfortable working with.
Prerequisites : have completed crochet basics or know how to chain, slip stitch, double crochet and treble crochet.
Tutor : Shelley Husband is an Australian crochet designer and crochet teacher living on the south west coast of Victoria with her hubby and teenager in a tiny dot of a town by the ocean. Her two older children have left the nest and are spreading their own crafty and arty wings out in the world.
Shelley has crafted most of her life, trying “all of the crafts” over the years. These days, she spends most of her time with a crochet hook in hand. Having discovered a natural knack for crochet about six years ago after a break of a few decades, she hasn’t looked back, creating hundreds of Granny Square patterns.
"I get a real kick out of seeing folks create beautiful crochet items they thought were beyond their skills. If you can crochet a granny square and you’re willing to learn and have a go, you can make my patterns."
