Workshop: BEGINNERS Team Knit - Adult & Child (2.5 hours)
*** Special Request for Sarah ***
A beginner knit workshop designed especially for you and your child to enjoy together (or perhaps a grandparent and grandchild or an older sibling and younger one). We like to call it Team Knit. One booking for two people.
Knitting is a skill that requires patience and practice. Having an experienced family member to help whilst learning is a fond memory for many. Or perhaps you missed out on learning these skills and would like to learn the basics along side your child.
We will cover the basics including casting on, garter stitch and casting off. Perhaps even how to purl!
Suitable for absolute beginners as well as anyone who just wants to revisit the basics before moving onto learning some new skills.
See Calendar for dates.
Please bring along to class : knitting needles size 4.5-6.5mm, wool preferably 10/12 ply and light coloured. Alternatively you can purchase these items in store prior to the class (early arrival please to ensure class starts promptly).
Prerequisites : none
Tutor : Marianne Horton of Beautiful Fierce
Marianne has a genuine passion for teaching and creating beautiful objects with simple tools and beautiful fibres.
"Making things is one of my ways to tell a story - by shaping the material at hand, I am able to give voice to the tales of everyday life. Sometimes, those materials have their own words to add and so the story can often have a twist or an ending that surprises even the author."
